Doggone it. It's COLD and Angel needs a bath. I don't know what it is about Dobermans but, they have an undeniable odor that screams wash me, wash me now. In the wintertime we really don't have a choice, it's off to the shower. What a mess! All that loose hair going down the drain.

In the summer months we have a better plan for outdoor baths in a portable dog wash tub.

We found something that really works on Angel's unbearable foul odor. It's called Fresh & Clean. I swear it only takes about four sprays to cover the dog. All we do then is rub it in with a soft rag and she's a good smelling dog for about three days. They call it a daily grooming spray but it lasts at least a couple days. Anyway, we like it so well we've decided to keep some around.

The dog backpack is becoming more popular everyday. What a cool way to carry stuff on outings. Does this Lab look full proud or what?

Our Dogs Angel and Max, needed a little help getting into the back of our SUV. The rear cargo area is just to high off the ground for most dogs to make it in a single leap. I wanted something strong, portable and inexpensive so I got the idea to make my own. Basically, it is a plywood step attached to an insertable ball mount. I cannot understand for the life of me why some people, for whatever reason, drop their dog off in a strange neighborhood expecting the dog to take care of itself or that someone will take it in. Neither scenario is likely to happen. Don't they realize the dog has a lower chance of survival when left to the elements?

Someone dropped off two pit bulls in our neighborhood recently. A male and a female. The male wore a collar and the female looked as tho she may have given birth to a litter in the past six weeks.

If they had only driven a few more miles to the Animal Shelter, the dogs would have had food, water and a dry warm place to lay. We called the County Animal Control but do not know whether or not they picked the dogs up.

These type people do not care about their dogs or their fellow human beings. It is the same type people who discard their garbage on the side of a rural road, too lazy to find a recycle center. The same mentality. There ought to be a law!

If you can no longer care for your dog please take it to an animal shelter where it will get the attention it needs and possibly find a new home.
